Dawnbreak
The alarm you cannot switch off in your sleep.
You do not oversleep because your alarm is too quiet. You oversleep because stopping it takes one thumb, half a second, and no thought at all.
Dawnbreak takes the thumb out of it. To silence the alarm you have to do something a sleeping person cannot: walk to the kitchen and photograph the kettle, do ten squats in front of the camera, solve arithmetic you would find easy at noon, scan the barcode on a box in another room.
Twelve missions
Arithmetic, a tile pattern to reproduce, a colour sequence, a sentence to type exactly, a shake, a walk of a set number of steps, squats counted by the camera, an object to go and photograph, a barcode to scan, a drawing recognised on the device, a lap of a small game, and a round of guided breathing. Four difficulties, and as many missions in a row as you dare set.
It does not let go
Stop the alarm without finishing the mission and it comes back a few minutes later under a title that says so. Up to ten rounds. An emergency exit is there from the first launch, because an alarm that can trap someone is a bug, not a feature.
Nothing leaves your phone
No account, no server, no analytics, no third-party code of any kind. The camera frames the squat mission counts are analysed in memory and thrown away. Your alarms and your history are files on your device and nowhere else.
